Tsavo West National Park is more mountainous and wetter than its counterpart, with swamps, Lake Jipe, and the Mzima Springs. It is known for bird life and for its large mammals e.g. black rhino, Cape buffalo, elephant, leopard, hippo, and Maasai lion. There are also other smaller animals that can be spotted in the park, such as the bush baby, hartebeest, lesser kudu, and Maasai giraffe.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: NAIROBI-TSAVO WEST

    Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning and drive to Tsavo West National Park which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants and the famous man-eating lions. Have a game drive en route to your lodge. Check-in and have lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, have another game drive at the park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

  • Day 2: TSAVO WEST

    At 06h30, enjoy a quick cup of tea or coffee and depart for an early morning game drive in search of the big cats returning from their nocturnal hunts. Return back to the lodge for a full breakfast.

    You may choose to relax at the lodge or at about 10h30 depart for a short optional game drive returning to the lodge in time for lunch.

    Relax and enjoy the swimming pool until about 16h00 when you start your evening game drive looking for more wildlife. Just before sunset, return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3: TSAVO WEST- NAIROBI

    The following morning at about 06h30, enjoy some coffee/tea at the lodge before you leave for an early morning game drive in search of animals and big cats that may have come out into the open during the night. After the game drive, you will then return to the lodge for a full breakfast then check out, and proceed to Nairobi arriving late in the evening for a drop-off at your respective hotel or airport.
